#N5IIA I was an avid SWL in the late '60's and '70's. Got into CB around 1976. Made contacts around the globe on SSB, and got the bug to get my Ham License. Unfortunately, I also discovered girls around the same time, so ham radio took a back seat until 1985. While stationed in San Antonio with the Air Force, I met Paul Goble, ND2X. He got me on track, gave me my Novice Test and had me prepared for my Technician exam. I took the Technician test the next day and passed. I hammered away for a few months on 40 meter CW to get my code speed up, and passed my General Test. In January 2018, I passed my Extra Test, and am now going back to my CW roots. I use tight filters, so if you don't know how to zero beat, I probably won't hear you 200hz away. I'm a musician, so I hear the difference between 700hz, and 705hz. :) I enjoy experimenting with various digital modes as well as voice on HF. I am recently retired, and am a full time beekeeper now. I don't paper QSL. Sorry.
