Greetings:

You haven’t heard from me in a while, I will make no promises I will likely break but my faith is still strong though I sin and I stumble.

Prayer: to forgive, and to be forgiven …

Lord in Heaven,

We receive the Holy Spirit in Your name,

Our eyes see clearly when Your voice is heard,

The enemies of righteousness are confused and dispersed,

Demons are driven away at the mention of Your word.

We pray to You, Oh Lord, that our hearts might be softened,

That our minds be made clear,

And in our pursuit of Your love we find a way to love those we cannot,

To forgive those we will not,

To understand those who are misunderstood,

To shelter the poor and the sick,

To care for those with shattered spirits,

And to FORGIVE so as to be forgiven.

In Your name, Jesus Christ, we serve.

AMEN

Discussion: how hard is it to forgive? how hard is it to find peace?

  1. A friend of mine was explaining forgiveness, and said “you should forgive, but that does not mean you can be friends”. He meant to say that forgiveness does not mean acceptance, nor does it mean that two or more people can be friendly. It means people can live together, peacefully, but in no way does it mean “everyone is going to be friends”.
  2. The difficulty of forgiving my own father.
  3. The difficulty in forgiving myself.
  4. The broken families that result from two years of lies.
  5. How can we have peace without forgiveness? How can we have forgiveness without a choice? – can someone be FORCED to forgive?

Silent prayer to request help from God:

Lord’s Prayer:

Have a great week, and I don’t know if there will be another one …
