3. I’ve been involved in AmeriCorps since September 2023. The money is about 2200 a month, but not year round. I demand no pity or protection and DOGE cutting funds does not shock me. TBH: if a lot of the teachers I worked around came to understand my changes of mind since 2016? – they’d want me gone too. I simply stopped living in THIS WORLD 9 years ago. And it wasn’t really just about “shitty experiences”, it was about butting up against the “wall” and seeing the cracks. I will figure out a way through or NOT, and that’s where we’re at. Worrying about it every day won’t help, doing nothing doesn’t work either. They say we’ll get one more check, so that buys me some time.
4. Let’s be honest, if the “cliff” is still months away? then this could all just be noise, more smoke, more noise and the funding is restored.
5. As you well know: there’s plenty of money for killing. This doesn’t mean my job is justified, fuck: I’m an anarchist on the Death Star and I did what I did to avoid becoming street homeless. Did I help some kids? – possibly, but the full truth is I did this job to avoid that oblivion that might eventually lead to an El Salvador junta style soccer-stadium fuck fest.

8. I was never good at jumping, not really. I guess I was stick leader at airborne school, so I did something RELATED to jumping well enough … jumping out of a functional airframe … I did that well enough, but that’s falling too. Falling is what I became good at, at a young age, falling so far I could fall into the recesses of my mind, my imagination, and land some place far from the grief of the world. I remember the WA state economy during the late 70’s, early 80’s, and what was going on around me. When it fell, the trees of that three legged stool (Boeing, timber, fishing/agriculture … maybe more legs …) … maybe not a stool, but a simplified economic reality. When that structure started to fail, it feel hard, some communities, like Aberdeen WA, never really recovered. What’s coming is worse.
9. It’s not the end of the world, I think end of the world cults are retarded; however, I’ve also come to see Zionism as end of the world cult of suffering and as such I find it dangerously retarded. So no: I am no fan of apocalyptic cults. However, I think what is coming will feel as bad as “it’s the end of the world” … this won’t be the semi-hopeful “screwbilee” I talked about in 2019, this is the flush, this is a Pontiac GTO going 120 MPH hitting a steel reinforced concrete wall 34 feet hick, 100 feet tall. That’s your soft landing.
10. Remember, it is the great discontinuity, so crazy random and likely low probability GOOD STUFF can happen too, and if we’re not on the verge of the end times then I think we’ll find Jesus there to help us too: AMEN.
11. So I’m okay. I look back to how big a dick my dad was at times, and it reminds me of that scene from Red Dawn, the re-education camp where Harry Dean Stanton is telling his kids “now you know why”. And then I think of my poor Bible studies, my anger at God in the last few years, and the WORD I do know tells me with the help of the Holy Spirit: “now you know why”.
