I went there again …

When I think about rejecting God as a kid, I realize I wasn’t really rejecting God; I was rejecting the edifice of the Vatican and the Bishop of Rome. I was rejecting the witch doctors and sorcerers of the high Middle Ages, and rejecting the doomsayers of the last few hundred years. I was rejecting the Devil’s work, along with God, so I was half right, which is to say I was all wrong.

If you remove all the ritual, pageantry, and ROMAN PAGAN BULLSHIT from Catholicism? – there’s not much left. And what is left was always there, and needs know imperial earthly splendor.
