A tale of three bobs:

  1. Bob 1: USAF RETIRED LTC, cyber security expert, makes 60K a year from a pension for just getting up in the morning. He really wants to teach. His wife is very ill. He lives in a compound up in the woods. He was doing a DHS/InfraGuard check on me. He made 20K for doing this, perhaps more.
  2. Bob 2: NDU, BUSH SCHOOL Texas A&M, cyber security expert, retired USAF, multiple PhDs and what nots. Served at the same locations as Bob 1, and has the same first and last name. He made money doing this, but WTAF would Bob 2 be in the special ed room this week?
  3. Bob 3: “Bob” was never Bob 1 or Bob 2. He’s somebody else piggybacking off of the identity of Bob 2. This is an overlay. This is probably the worst possibility.

An “overlay” is a person used as cover/background by someone else who has physical features similar to the “overlay”. The faker pretends to be the “overlay”. “Overlays” might never know this is happening.

Brief story from August 1996.

I was driving across country, from FORT LEWIS to FORT BLISS. I ended up stopping at a gas station / diner near Shiprock. An old native American man came up to me and asked me “where are you going”. I answered, “to Ft. Bliss, Texas”.

His response was, “no, you’re coming with me, follow me up into the hills, you are supposed to do this”.

I did not follow the old native American, sometimes I wish I had.
