Someone I care about asked me today: “Do you ever think your life is a house of cards?”
I’ve been thinking on this all morning …
As a Christian, even if not a very good one, I will give you my best answer: It was always a house of cards, learn to play.
In late 2019 I told my listeners “get ready, shit is about to go sideways” – I wasn’t exactly sure what form “sideways” would take, I had theories … some of which I explored in a podcast called the “Great Discontinuity”. I have never claimed to “see the future”, I simply have the understanding I do have, and my intuition. Do I apply logic? – yes … you should, especially if you’re being exposed to high-intensity military psychological warfare, but it’s not all about logic.
When Adam and Eve got KICKED OUT of PARADISE, there were curses – and it wasn’t just about original sin. The Lord basically said, and I shall paraphrase:
- your life is a house of cards
- the stuff you end up building will be a house of cards
- your marriage, family, property and stuff? – a house of cards
- you can build a tower to the sky? – but you’ll all die … cuz house of cards
Like my friend, many are thinking along the same lines and often end up on the side of some binary, the most prominent binary being: it’s either SUPER GREAT or the END OF THE WORLD. But study some history buddy … there are levels between those two extremes.
Does this mean life is pointless despair and LOSS? – no … and yes … and no.
The Lord gave us his friendship.
The Lord gave us his shield.
The Lord goes before us.
The Lord sacrificed his only Son Jesus, to redeem the world.
And when His Son left? – he left us with the Holy Spirit, and a promise He would return, one day.
Yes – it’s a “House of Cards”, but no, that does not imply it is only pointlessness and despair.
Even now, as the darkness grows, there is still light.
Even today, with all the shit-birds and assholes running amok, there are still good people, brave people, solving problems, working hard, pursuing their OWN LIVES as free human beings.
So fuck it – it’s a HOUSE OF CARDS …
Never been different.
Kind of makes it fun.
